Who We Are
Port Meadow principles have enjoyed successful careers in investment banking, private equity and management consulting. We have decades of deal experience in the USA, UK and South Africa. Our principals have also started businesses, bought businesses, been through the challenges of growing a company, and generated successful exits.
Mr. Edwards specialises in corporate strategy advisory, complex deal negotiations, and distressed divestiture transactions. He has worked at Deloitte, IBM, Lloyds of London, Grant Thornton and is a co-founder of Port Meadow. His experience includes work in the US, Europe, South America and South Africa. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant of South Africa in 1995 and obtained a Masters from Oxford University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Town. chris@portmeadow.co.za
Mr. Beart has 25 years experience in operational and supply chain efficiency, business strategy, M&A, capital raising, and debt to equity swaps. He has M&A experience in Europe and southern Africa. He has worked at SAB, Deloitte and Axiz Workgroup. He completed a B.Comm at the University of South Africa and an MBA at the University of Cape Town. chris.beart@portmeadow.co.za
Mr. Kok has been involved in over 30 M&A and debt structuring transactions, with values exceeding R10b. He specializes in deal and tax structuring, transaction negotiations and performance management of investments. He has worked on transactions in South Africa, Poland, Hungary, Spain, Cyprus and Australia. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant of South Africa in 2010, having articled with PwC. He obtained a B. Acc (Hons) from the University of the Free State and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
